Bot Store evidence and editorial methodology
Bot Store reports only the strongest evidence it actually has. A public listing, an official x.ai URL, a creator claim, a hands-on test, and a user review are separate states and must not be treated as interchangeable proof.
Evidence states
- Listed
- A public Bot Store listing exists with a name, description, maker identity, and route. It does not mean Bot Store has run the Bot.
- Official link recorded
- The listing stores a URL on x.ai/bot. This identifies the intended Grok destination; it is not a continuous link-health or safety check.
- Creator identified
- The listing records a maker name or X handle. Identification is different from a completed ownership claim or endorsement by xAI.
- Creator claimed
- Bot Store has an explicit connected-account ownership record for the listing. We do not infer ownership from a similar display name.
- Task tested
- Bot Store completed a named task and retained a dated result or artifact. We only use this state when that evidence exists.
- Reviewed
- A user submitted a Bot Store review. Reviews and install clicks are user signals, not independent proof of every capability claim.
How editorial lists are selected
Editorial collections prioritize a clear job, specific expected output, useful boundaries, a public Bot Store page, and an official x.ai Bot destination. They are not ordered by payments, install clicks, ratings, or creator popularity unless the page explicitly says so.
The current best-Bots collection is a discovery shortlist based on public listing information, not a claim that every Bot was hands-on tested. When task-test evidence is added, the tested task, date, and result should be visible on the relevant page.
Commercial disclosure
Bot Store is a marketplace and keeps 5% of paid listing sales, including card fees. Payment does not buy editorial placement, and paid listings are not automatically ranked above free listings.
What people should still check
Inspect the maker, instructions, requested access, connected services, source material, and approval boundaries before adding a Bot. xAI’s documentation explains how Bots work; Bot Store remains an independent marketplace and is not affiliated with xAI.
