Which apps actually work with Grok Bot?

Grok Bot can use an app through an official connector, a signed-in browser session, or a human handoff for sensitive steps. “Works with” is not a permanent yes or no: it must name the task, access path, permissions, approval boundary, test date, and observed result.
The official FAQ says Grok Bot can use many browser-based tools, but a site may block automation, require a new login, present a CAPTCHA, or need human confirmation. It recommends a connector when one is available because structured access is usually more reliable.
Use five evidence states
- Official connector: xAI or Cursor documents a supported connection for the named service and task.
- Browser tested: the exact task completed in a signed-in browser on the recorded date.
- Human handoff: the Bot can prepare the flow but a person must complete login, CAPTCHA, payment, identity, or another protected step.
- Blocked: the current task failed because of a rule, permission, unsupported action, or repeatable technical problem.
- Untested: a listing mentions the app, but nobody has produced dated task evidence.
An app name in a Bot description is not a sixth state called “compatible.”
Test the job, not the homepage
Define one observable task: “find three invoice PDFs in this Gmail label and return vendor, date, amount, and source link” is testable; “works with Google” is not.
Record:
- Account type and test date.
- Connector, browser, or local-computer path.
- Exact read and write permissions granted.
- Authentication or human-takeover steps.
- The expected artifact or state change.
- What completed, failed, or required approval.
- Whether a second run duplicated anything.
Keep browser claims narrow
The subreddit contains questions about Google, Shopify, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, iPhone Shortcuts, PDFs, downloads, and existing browser sessions. Third-party compatibility directories also appeared quickly. Those posts show demand for answers, not proof that every service is safe or supported.
Websites can change automation rules without notice. A browser test on one account does not grant permission, guarantee another account will work, or make CAPTCHA bypass acceptable.
Grok Bot's cloud browser is separate from the Chrome tabs on your local computer, and every Bot on the same account shares the cloud computer's sessions and files. Read Does Grok Bot use your computer? before connecting accounts or local tools.
Current first-party examples
xAI announced an initial Grok Bot connector for X on August 29, 2026 for searching posts, reading a timeline, checking mentions and summarising activity. That does not promise every X action or unlimited free API use.
Cursor's plugin connection guide documents the account-level connection flow and current known issues. It does not publish a permanent list proving every service and action works.
Mac, Windows and iPhone on iOS 18 or later are the platforms documented by xAI at this check. Later community claims about Android or Linux should remain unverified until a current first-party release or download confirms them.
Treat sensitive steps as human work
Use takeover for passwords, passkeys, two-factor codes, CAPTCHAs, payment confirmations, identity checks, and protected consent. Keep sends, purchases, deletions, permission changes, and production actions behind approval.
Compatibility rule. Publish the date, path, task, permission, result, and limitation. If any of those are missing, label the integration untested.
