Product availability is changing quickly. A live first-party store listing is stronger release evidence than an older preregistration post, but it does not prove that every region, account, or device can install the app. ## What can the iPhone app do? The iPhone app connects to the same Bots, conversations, routines, plugins, and shared cloud computer as desktop. You can message Bots, approve steps, review results, watch computer work, take over for a password or CAPTCHA, create Bots and groups, and pause or resume routines. Some controls remain desktop-only. xAI says editing routine schedules or instructions, viewing run history, testing and deleting routines, and teach-by-demonstration workflows currently require the desktop app. ## Does Grok Bot keep working when my device is closed? Yes. Work runs on the cloud computer, so closing the desktop app, laptop, or iPhone does not stop a background turn or routine. The device is a control surface; it is not where the Bot's cloud work executes. The same signed-in account also shares one usage bucket across devices. Installing the iPhone app does not create another Bot roster, computer, or weekly allowance. ## Which Mac or Windows download do I need? On a Mac, open **Apple menu → About This Mac**. A **Chip** field means Apple silicon; a **Processor** field means Intel. Choose the matching download, open the disk image, and drag Grok Bot to Applications. On Windows, open **Settings → System → About → System type**. Choose x64 or Arm64 to match the device, run the installer, and open Grok Bot from the Start menu. ## Is there a Grok Bot app for Android? Yes, an official Google Play listing for **Grok Bot** from SpaceXAI is live and says users can message Bots from Android or desktop. The listing was updated on August 29, 2026, after xAI's August 20–22 help pages described Android as unsupported at initial launch. That makes “preregistration only” stale. It still does not prove installation for every country, account, or device; this research did not perform an authenticated regional install. Do not confuse the separate Grok consumer app for Android with a supported Grok Bot client. They are different products and do not imply the same Bot roster or computer controls. ## Is there a Grok Bot app for Linux? xAI's current setup and teams documentation says there is no supported Linux desktop app. The cloud computer itself is a managed Linux virtual machine; users control it from the supported desktop or iPhone clients. Community Wine setups, packages, and direct download discoveries may work for an individual. They remain unverified support paths until the current first-party requirements and download pages list Linux with installation and support guidance. ## Does each device get a different computer? No. Every Bot on one signed-in user account shares the same persistent cloud computer, including its files, browser sessions, and logins. The desktop and iPhone apps show and control that same account-level workspace.
